Delete your account

What deleting removes
Deleting your GainShare account is permanent and cannot be undone. When you confirm deletion we remove:
- Your profile — display name, email, photo, bio, body stats (bodyweight, height, age, gender), experience level and goal.
- Your training data — every logged workout, personal record, template, program, training block, readiness entry, and derived stats such as your Strength Score, streaks and muscle-coverage history.
- Your posts and media — posts you authored, their photos and videos, and your comments and likes attached to them.
- Your social graph — the people you follow and your followers, on both sides, so you no longer appear in anyone else's lists or counts.
- Everything else keyed to your account — gym check-ins and memberships, club memberships, challenge entries, notifications, and your push-notification tokens.
Deletion is processed automatically as soon as your sign-in credential is removed, and the data cascade normally completes within a few minutes.
What is retained, and for how long
- Encrypted backups — our hosting provider (Google Firebase) keeps rolling backups of the database. Deleted records age out of those backups within 30 days and are never restored into the live app.
- Aggregate, non-identifying counts — figures such as a gym's total logged volume or a challenge's participant count are stored as totals, not as rows about you, and are not reversible to an individual.
- Records we are legally required to keep — for example, purchase and tax records held by Apple or Google for a subscription you bought through their store. Those are held by the store, not by us; we keep no payment details.
- Support correspondence — if you emailed us, that email thread stays in our support inbox for up to 12 months.
Copies other people already saved — a screenshot of a post, for instance — are outside our control and are not covered by deletion.
Delete from inside the app
- Open GainShare on your phone.
- Go to Settings → Account & security.
- Tap Delete account, then confirm.
- You may be asked to re-enter your password (or re-sign-in with Google or Apple) first — that is Firebase confirming it is really you.
Delete from the web
You can do the same thing in a browser. Sign in at gainshare.app/login and open Settings → Account & security, then use Delete account. The same confirmation and re-auth step applies.
Can't sign in?
If you have lost access to your account you can still have it deleted. First try resetting your password. If that does not work, email support@gainshare.app from the address on the account with the subject “Account deletion request”. We will verify ownership and delete the account for you, normally within 30 days, and confirm by email when it is done.
Want a copy first?
Deletion is irreversible, so export anything you want to keep before you start — GainShare can export your workout history from Settings. You can also request a copy of your data by emailing support@gainshare.app.
